5 Week Intermediate Coiling Class

Class Description

Join this 5-week intermediate-level ceramics class, designed for students with some prior experience. Over the course, you will create a coil-built vase, perfect for displaying your flowers or as a beautiful standalone piece. In the first few weeks, we will focus on hand building techniques to create and refine a coil vase, aiming for a height between 20cm to 30cm. You'll learn how to control shape, form, and structure to achieve a refined, functional piece. As the course progresses, we will explore adding decorative details such as handles or sculpted elements, along with surface decoration techniques using slips. By the end of the course, you’ll walk away with a finished, fired vase, showcasing your personal style. This class is ideal for those looking to develop their coiling skills and experiment with surface decoration in a relaxed and supportive environment.
